Leyla Kaya was born and grown up in Berlin, Germany.  She graduated from the department of English Language Teaching at Gazi University. She worked as an German teacher in various schools, affiliated to Ministry of National Education between 1998-2021.

She earned master’s degree at the Department of German Language Teaching at Gazi University  by submitting her thesis, entitled “The investigation in terms of listening skills of the course book named 'Wie Bitte' used in German courses in secondary education instutions.“ 

She worked  as German Teacher at Goethe Institute between 1998-2012.  While working for the Ministry of National Education, she participated in several seminars of Institut of Goethe in Germany. Meanwhile she continues her doctoral education in the field of German Language Teaching at Gazi University.  Her interests include material preparation in German Language Teaching, second lerners` motivation, motivational sources, reading and travelling. Leyla Kaya started to work as an Instructor at the Language School of Social Science University of Ankara in February 2021.
