he English Language Preparatory Program (ELP), administered by the BEU, aims at offering the language education level required by a research-oriented university. The program meets international quality standards, with priority given to speaking and writing skills both at the graduate and bachelor and postgraduate levels.

To this end, the BEU goes all out to offer its students the required language skills via tutorials, mentoring systems, and programs within the framework of academic criteria to better prepare them to carry out researches in English. Students under this category are offered customized classes—depending on their needs—outside their regular class hours through continuous support whether individually, or in groups.   

In compliance with Bologna University education standards, the Modern Languages Unit, with its rich array of languages, provides students with the opportunity to pursue other foreign language choices both at the preparatory school and during the BA program for up to six semesters.

The Departmental English Unit: Upon successful completion of the preparatory English program, the DEU provides students with English specific courses (ESP), such as Academic Reading in Social Sciences (ENG 111) and Academic Writing in Social Sciences (ENG 112) to better prepare them to meet the academic needs of their departments.
