GENERAL ENGLISH COURSES

ENG 121

Students will acquire an elementary (A1) understanding of form, meaning, and use of English in basic discourse settings, and develop the 4 basic knowledge areas—reading, writing, listening, and speaking—along with vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation. Tasks are presented via multiple themes for each unit. A primary goal of ENG 121 is to equip students with a basic level of English (Elementary) and the foundation for confident use of spoken English.

ENG 122

ENG 122 is a continuation of ENG 121 and aims to further develop an elementary (A1) understanding of form, meaning, and use of English in basic discourse settings, and develop the 4 basic knowledge areas—reading, writing, listening, and speaking—along with vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation. Tasks are presented via multiple themes for each unit. A primary goal of ENG 122 is to equip students with a basic level of English (Elementary) and the foundation for confident use of spoken English.

 

ENG 221

ENG 221, a higher level of ENG 122, aims to help students build a pre-intermediate understanding of form, meaning, and use of English in basic discourse settings, and to further develop the basic knowledge areas—reading, writing, listening, and speaking—as well as vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation. Tasks are presented via multiple themes for each unit. A primary aim of ENG 221 is to enable students to confidently use pre-intermediate level English in English-speaking environments.

ENG 222

ENG 222, a continuation of ENG 221, aims to further develop the basic knowledge areas—reading, writing, listening, and speaking—as well as vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation. Tasks are presented via multiple themes for each unit. A primary aim of ENG 222 is to further boost student confidence using pre-intermediate level English in English-speaking environments.

 

ENG 321

ENG 321, a higher level of ENG 222, aims to help students acquire an intermediate level of understanding of form, meaning, and use of English in basic discourse settings, and to further develop the basic knowledge areas—reading, writing, listening, and speaking—as well as vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation. Tasks are presented via multiple themes for each unit. A primary aim of ENG 321 is to enable students to confidently use an intermediate level of English in English-speaking environments.

ENG 322

ENG 322, a continuation of ENG 322, aims to help students further develop an intermediate level of understanding of form, meaning, and use of English in basic discourse settings, and to further develop the basic knowledge areas—reading, writing, listening, and speaking—as well as vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation. Tasks are presented via multiple themes for each unit. A primary aim of ENG 322 is to enable students to confidently use an intermediate level of English in English-speaking environments.
