Armenian is an important Indo-European language. The Armenian alphabet, which has specific shapes, was formed by a cleric named Mesrop Maştots in 405 AD. The writing culture of Armenia started with translation studies in 5th century AD and since then, it has passed through major changes; however, Armenian alphabets remained the same. Armenian Language has two dialects: Eastern Armenian and Western Armenian. When the Armenian language and literature improved, the difference between Eastern and Western dialects became more apparent. Eastern Armenian is the official language of Armenia and former Soviet countries. Eastern Armenian is widely spoken and understood. In Turkey and Western Armenian diaspora, Western Armenian is more popular; however, this dialect is in UNESCO's list of endangered languages.

In our Armenian language course, Eastern Armenian, the official language of Armenia, is taught; however, Western Armenian can be taught based on demand.
